Mini bad guys and visible damage marker

Greetings all. I am running Strahd again for younger players and their parent/parents. Does anyone use visible markers for damage/hearts for minis? I am thinking of switching to hits vs. hearts or HP. I like the D6’s idea on how many hits a hero/monster has. Just wanted to see if anyone uses markers for this that are cheep and easy to make. For EZD6 I’ve been using tokens from the board game Sequence. Red for Strikes, Blue for Karma. Poker chips could work well too. Players keep the tokens in small bowls. This has worked well for us.

I have used a million of these at the table. You can get them from Amazon, about 50 per bag.
