Getting ready for my first ICRPG game

#1

Psyched to run my first game with my kids. Have made some wooden tokens from the starter character minis. Wish me luck

#2

That’s awesome! Kill it!

#3

Excellent! How old are your kids?

#4

10 and 6. We have played about a year of Whitebox and Vieja Escuela so they are familiar with game mechanics.

#5

Characters are hired to bring dwarven priest to marry daughter of local mine owner. Wedding disrupted by kidnapping and bombing. Characters pursue through wintery forest to old volcano where disgruntled fired dwarven engineer plans to shotgun marry girl and keep the mine to himself (dwarves do not divorce). Lots of sulphur, lava, and snow. All in 3 nifty dot grid index cards.

#6

I’m intrigued by the first image. Is that an hexagon grid notebook?

#7

Yes. I make them. Here are the links. I usually use 4 pages printed on both sides for a little 8 page booklet.

#8

It is half hex grid, half dot grid.

If you just want to make hex notebooks, download the pdf for free from www.incompetech.com

#10

The cards and tokens look great. So, how’d it go?

#11

Looks great. I hope you and your kids have a great time.

It went great. The timers and the turn structure kept the game going. Usually, I only get to do about 2 encounters in a session, here we did 3 and had time left over. The game definitely delivers.
