I actually believe it is easier to create an ACTUAL artificer class within ICRPG, pulling from the non-fantasy settings.
Sentry guns, tech armor, actual gun proficiencies and rules, etc. It´s all there.
My current campaign has two artificers, none of them have “spells”, they have their creations which have the desired effect. They are both pretty different, one is an improviser that can combine items on the fly to create different effects, the other one is a sentry-gun AoE type gunslinger.
