Melissa and I attempt to answer the question. Can you play TTRPGs in the forest?

We took a trip up north to one of our favorite camping spots and ran a session of the Windstone Chronicles.

We documented our thoughts on our blog, and a youtube video and youtube short. Links below.

We also created a Forest map of the area we were camping in to bring into the World of Windstone. You can download the full size map from our blog.

Great map!
I like the division into distinct areas, the use of elevation, and the mix of line of sight-obstacles (trees) and movement obstacles (stream). A+

I agree! The coloration is really well done, I dig the transparent watercolor brush work on this!

Thanks! I think the wargaming in me always comes out in the maps. Block LOS.

Thanks!! Its a combo of real watercolors on a paper than using procreate for more texture and coloring.

#6

That’s awesome, it has a nice organic feel to it. I can see that using real watercolors really helps achieve that.

Very nice! Love the the colors! I personally love looking at colored maps but for play I really love to have a bw map to color it myself. Do you still have the bw version?

#8

Afraid not. I merged the sketch layer when I started the water coloring. Everything gets pretty mangled when I am just playing around. Melissa and I are always happy to do commissions if you want a custom map. You can hit us up at urbansunrises@gmail.com if you want to do something epic!
