Story Architecture

So I’ve gone back and reread for the umpteenth time the core book and decided to create a fun little template for creating adventures, using the cards, using the architecture, and the risks of the 3Ds…so, using Story Cubes I might lay out my overall adventure and then for each scene/room I lay out the three Ts and the 3 D dials…

In this case, a mad king is creating an army of autonomous psychic soldiers in order to seize control of the realms!!But…the massive vibrations and sheer psychic power threaten to completely fracture the core of the world.

The 3Ts and the Ds of the first scene (room) play out As such:

  • Every d4 turns a major city or landmark is reduced to rubble until…(timer)
  • The local psychic channeler is disrupted/dispatched (threat)
  • The channeler gets their power through a portal mechanism that, if closed, ends their power…however, it also gives the party limited time to follow the portal to the source of the disruption
