Can you discuss how you’re handling Mega Damage? I’m not seeing it in the work and it’s…relevant to my own creations…

#5

Mega Damage

Weapons do double damage to humanoid size targets, and normal damage to CHUNKS (typically vehicles, giant monsters, & robot mecha)

More info can be found under MEGA in the SPECIAL RULES

#7

Will take a look. Thatnk you for considering me.

#8

I have looked through the rules a bit and have a few questions:

  • Why did you decide to do MDC / Armor as a soak method? Cause it’s like the original?
  • Are you using the OG RIFTs or Savage Rifts to inform your design more?
  • How did you come to the determination of using Class Tags? And Spellburn as the magic-limiting mechanism?

I am currently working on my own Rifts conversion but am lucky to have months before we get into it at my table. My thoughts on the classes and magic and even powers are much different from yours. Thanks for putting this together. I never played Rifts OG or Savage Rifts so having your insight is quite valuable.

#9

MDC because its not RIFTS without it! and Armor as a soak gives even the normal trooper some chance of surviability.

Both. I am a long time OG RIFTS player, but also a big advocate of the Savage Worlds versions as well!

I wanted a simple method to make classes without adding more rules and option overload for the players. As it is the list includes way too much that needs to be trimmed!

And SPELL BURN is a ICRPG staple, so I thought it should be included. It is a tried and true mechanic that really helps keep MAGIC from dominating a session too much.

#10

Thanks for the ping man.

Currently I am floored with work and other things and I don’t really have any free time BUT I’ll look at it at the first opportunity!

#11

Thanks for considering me as well. I like the classes as Tags and the Fast Packs. The many bioforms may result a bit excessive. I know is a WIP, so maybe grouping the names by plane of origin could be useful.
I’m not very familiar with the Rifts’ lore. As a setting, it’s one I never liked. It has a loooot of things going on hehe, but you do make a great job converting lots of settings to ICRPG.

#12

How does one get access to the primer? This is very relevant to my interests. When I attempt to follow the link it says admin access needs to be provided. Thanks!

#14

how does one gain access to this? And or what is the dogpile tag. thanks

#15

It is currently being revised and will update soon enough… as for the Dog Pile tag… see page 80 of CORE rulebook…

Game On!

#16

I’m new here, so forgive any ignorance on my part. Two questions:

  1. How does one gain access to these documents? I am a huge fan of Rifts, but find the Palladium system to be a slog. I want to try ICRPG out (just bought the core and magic rule books) and am thinking of starting with Rifts.

  2. I cannot find the Rage mechanic in the core book, what supplement does it appear in?

Thanks!

#17
  1. I have not released access to the doc because it’s being revised (and it’s a mess at the moment). It should be getting a makeover shortly. Stay Tuned…
  2. RAGE is the same as RAGE mechanic from Altered State (pg6) by Alex Alvarez.

Game On!

#18

Thanks. I just purchased Altered State in DTRPG, looks to be a great supplement.

If I can ask you another question, where does BURNOUT come from? I tried searching for it but most searches of ICRPG + BURNOUT leads to threads of DMs talking about being burned out, not a ICRPG mechanic.

Thanks again!

#19

i think burn out comes from the Savage Worlds Rifts book but I’am not certain

#20

@quid … is correct. The Burnout mechanic came from the 1st edition of “Savage Rifts”. (I am a big fan… obviously.) It has since been refined into a wonderful mechanic in the SWADE revision and I thought it captured the Juicer feel really well, so I added it to the conversion.

If you guys are interested, we could play some games of RIFTS and try out the primer. It could use some more play testing. … Let me know by sending me a direct message. If we can get 4 players together, I would love to play a game or two.

Game On!

#21

Ok… my notes have been cleaned up…

Try the link at the top post again. It should take you to my notion page…

Game On!

#22

I’d love to check it out, but when I follow the link, I get the error: You do not have access to Ezzerharden’s Mainframe. Please contact an admin to add you as a member.

How do I access it?

#23

I can’t post links in the forums anymore. Send me a DM with your email and I can add you to the list.

Game On

This article looks awesome, but none of the links are valid anymore. Does anyone have a link to this material?
