Fall of Arnor: Burst Fire mech question

Hey folks,

I’m going to be running the Planet Killer Adventures this Sunday, but set in the Star Wars universe. @Wildstar helped me out a ton already, but I thought I’d ask y’all about a question I had.

Let’s take this mech for example. Chunk 2, the Bolt Gun, states “3 round burst, reload after 4 bursts …”
How would you run these burst fire chunks in your games? How do y’all interpret the 3 round burst?

One Attempt
3d6+Weapon Effort
1d6 vehicle dmg to mech if destroyed

@GMagnus’s suggestion is great. If you have more experienced players and want to give them more options, I’d allow these:

  1. One ATTEMPT, triple WEAPON EFFORT
  2. One ATTEMPT, EASY, double WEAPON EFFORT
  3. Three ATTEMPTS, single WEAPON EFFORT each

3-rd burst could make it EASY to hit, you could do 3 targets like a weapon in AS (I think), could be an increase in base weapon effort, etc. All that matters is consistency in your interpretation, so however you want to make it work just be sure to make a note of it for players. :slight_smile:

rules as written…
3 shots per action, each do weapon dmg.
chunks do double damage to people size targets, and normal dmg to vehicles and mecha (other chunk vehicles)
4 shots before reload
reload takes 1 action
