Converting 2e Magic types to Master Edition

homebrew

#1

Hey guys, I’m in the process of trying to make an extensive spell list for my homebrew ICRPG game.

I’m trying to combine/convert all the spells from Core 2e, Magic, Master Edition and Khan’s Spells and Feats Vol 1&2 into one giant tome.

I’d like to end up with just the 3 spell types (Holy, Arcane and Infernal) from ME. I’ve tried searching the forums to find someone’s conversion of the 12 types from Magic to the 3 types of ME but haven’t found anything.

Here’s the list:
Blood
Curse
Demon
Dimension
Elder
Energy
Fire
Glyph
Matter
Mind
Time
Transmutation

Please don’t tell me I have to decide on each individual spell

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

Sigh…

Yeah I’m trying to do the same but you kind of need to make ethical choices about each spell on a case-by-case basis.

But a rough guide would be:

Holy: Elder, Energy, TIme, & Transmutation.

Arcane: Dimension, Glyph, Matter & Mind.

Infernal: Blood, Curse, Demon & Fire

Of course those are my divisions, and other people are going to disagree…which is why I recommended case by case!

 I was afraid that might the answer. Do you have any specific criteria you are going by to differentiate each spell?

I’m also considering just dropping Infernal altogether and putting everything in either Arcane (INT) or Holy (WIS).

_Very, very_roughly, is the spell likely to be used to help a community or harm it? Again, for every spell, you can come up with exceptions to the rule. Which I’m pretending is the reason my work is going so slowly…
