Confusion about wording for monster rolls modifiers

I am brand new to ICRPG and had a question about the monsters from the core rulebook. Specifically, the part where it says the modifiers to their rolls.

The modifiers include: + X to certain stat(s), + X to certain stat(s) and + X to all others, + X to all rolls, + X to weapon damage, + X to some or all types of effort, + X to magic effects, + X to magic, and + X to magic effort. From this, I have a few questions:

  1. Does ‘all rolls’ include effort, or just checks and attempts?

  2. When it says ‘all others’ does that mean all other stats or all other rolls (including effort)?

  3. What is the difference between magic effects, magic, and magic effort?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! And apologies if this has been asked before.

  1. +X to all rolls means stats and effort
  2. ‘All others’ means every stat/effort that’s not already listed
  3. I’m not aware of any difference between magic effects, magic, and magic effort. All are ways of referring to MAGIC effort.

Of course you’re free to change any of this to whatever makes sense to you.

And just to clarify - if it says, for example, +2 STR, +1 All Others, does that mean:

  • +1 to all other STATS
  • +1 to all other ROLLS

I’ve always interpreted it as being +1 to all other ROLLS
